We have been supporting the Irene Gleeson Foundation since our business started over 20 years ago. Before that I was supporting the Foundation personally. My involvement began with a shipping container. Irene Gleeson had started an orphanage in Uganda and needed support to feed, clothe, house and educate the children. Support items were being donated but a shipping container was needed to deliver the items to Uganda. Complicating the matter was that Irene wanted to retain the container for storage. Somehow, in the short time frame of two weeks I managed to source a container and secure shipping.
Irene Gleeson founded an orphanage in Kitgum against all odds and a great risk to her own safety. She gave children a home and safety and now the orphanage is run and staffed by the children that she saved. Irene has since passed but her legacy and her work continues.
