This is not a welcome.
A little while back I went out for meal with Team Genesis. We had an early booking at a restaurant and duly arrived on time. Upon arrival at the said establishment, just as we were mounting the entry steps, we were met by a waiter, arms folded, blocking the door.
His unsmiling greeting to us was “Do you have a reservation?”
Certainly, this was an unexpected greeting and regardless of whether we did in fact have a booking or not, one that did anything but make us feel welcome, valued and appreciated. I have not returned to this restaurant and never will.
